Jean-Morlet Chair in Cirm Marseille-Luminy
The Jean-Morlet Chair gives international researchers in the field of mathematical sciences the opportunity to establish an ambitious programme of events while in residence for six months at the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (CIRM) in Marseille-Luminy, France.
The Chair holder, together with a Local project leader based at Aix-Marseille University, sets up a six months research programme including 1 large Conference, 1 Research School mostly aimed at young researchers and/or PhD students, 1 or 2 Small Groups, 1 or 2 Research in Pairs events and a programme of invitations, for which he or she receives financial and logistical support.
The current semester on 'Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems in their Interactions with Arithmetic and Combinatorics' is running from August 2016 to January 2017. Its beneficiaries are Jean-Morlet Chair holder Mariusz Lemańczyk (Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun) and Local project leader Sébastien Ferenczi (I2M - Institut de Mathématiques de Marseille, Aix-Marseille Université).
